"To record the music of the Beatles may feel somewhat redundant when the originals are so fantastically good. When and if I were to do this, the interpretations needed to end up far from the originals. I wanted to capture an atmosphere of a more melancholic character, which I find traceable in their music - Nordic Noir”.
Owe Almgren's way of creating arrangements based on several basses became the basis for this project, where then Karolina's vocals and saxophones, together with Malin's sense of rhythmic composition and groove form a whole. The ten Lennon/McCartney interpretations contains both tender moods and more powerful expressions.

Vancouver is a continuation of electric bass player Owe Almgren's previous solo projects "basically low key" and "I Owe You Listeners My Music", both recorded by legendary sound engineer Åke Linton.
In this duo project Åke steps in and creates different soundscapes that Owe explores in seven improvisations, where recordings of sound environments from different places in Gothenburg have also been added.

Åke Linton, for many years counted as the fourth member of E.S.T., collaborates today, with among others, Tonbruket and Rymden. He is the music technician behind countless Swedish jazz productions and also works with Swedish TV. Since 2010, he has had his studio at Svenska Grammofonstudion in Gothenburg.
